Kirsten Tonge

Kirsten Tonge is the Head of Production, Procurement and Logistics at FIL.

She came on board in 2019 managing the production and despatch teams, procurement, and logistics (in a nutshell a Supply Chain Manager).

Prior to her role here she spent 25 years in the timber industry in various roles from customer service through to logistics, production scheduling and then overall supply chain management. From there, she moved into a completely different industry of paint and aerosols, spending 2.5 years at Damar Industries.

Kirsten says she loves the variety of her role and the multiple challenges it can serve her on a daily basis. “We have a really great team at FIL and I enjoy working with all the staff, customers and suppliers, building relationships, working as a team with the end result of producing and supplying world class products to all of our customers,” she says.

Outside of work, Kirsten and her husband live on a small lifestyle block just out of Rotorua, where they like to spend their time fishing.

Kirsten says that now that the kids have left home (and she’s no longer playing chauffeur to all sorts of sporting events around the country!) it’s time for her to learn some more DIY renovating skills.
