Our mastitis consultation process

Initial on-farm assessment

To get an understanding of your farming operation and challenges, we'll complete a comprehensive on-farm assessment, including teat condition, plant performance, milking techniques and an analysis of your bulk milk tank using Farm Medix Snapshot®. 

Our FIL Area Managers are trained and accredited by Farm Medix to handle milk samples for analysis.

Understanding the source

Once the information has been collected and the root cause has been identified, whether hygiene or mastitis related, your FIL Area Manager will work with you to discuss corrective steps to get things back on track and performing well. Addressing the root cause of the problem head-on ensures better results in the long run.

Mastitis prevention plan

Your Area Manager will then be able to support you with a tailored mastitis prevention plan alongside comprehensive on-farm training and on-going support. Some teat sprays are designed to be particularly effective against certain pathogens and it’s important that your product selection matches your farm’s specific challenges.
