Ian Palmer

Within the GEA New Zealand business Ian heads up the Farm Technologies Division. This encompasses two key operations: FIL Hygiene and GEA Dairy Equipment.

Ian holds a Bachelor of Management Studies from the University of Waikato and has been with GEA since 2019. Prior to GEA, Ian spent 5 years as COO for a private owned freight and logistics company. Before then, he spent 17 years running operations and finance activities for Tyco in New Zealand and internationally.

Ian aspires to create an environment for the business and people within the business to succeed, adding he’s excited by the passion of the team who add value to farmers – both in terms of milk quality and animal health. He says he is driven to “strive for continuous improvement in all our processes and to embrace technology as a competitive advantage going forward.”

Outside of work, Ian enjoys spending time with his family and friends at his holiday home in Taupo or following wayward golf balls around the Ngaruawahia Golf Course (his words not ours!).
