Building capabilities on farm

We're all about upskilling and empowering farm staff. Your local FIL Area Manager will build capability within your team by training them on chemical safety, mixing and dilution rates, application of teat sprays and plant wash procedures.

We believe it's really important to arm your staff with best practice solutions, which is why we take the time to explain what causes grades, where to look should you encounter them and how to avoid them. In the event of a grade, your Area Manager will help you get to the root of the problem and get you back up and milking as quickly as a possible.

Plant health checks

It goes without saying you need a healthy and clean milking plant to produce quality milk. This is why ensuring your plant is performing as it should is a big part of what we do!

Your local Area Manager will go as far as checking your equipment to make sure everything is working properly and your FIL products are being effectively distributed. We can help with tailoring a cleaning routine for your set up; taking into account plant turbulence, products, and wash temperatures, while ensuring detergents have plenty of contact time to effectively clean.

Bulk milk testing

As part of our FIL udder health consultation, we can uncover the pathogens present in your herd through a simple bulk milk test. Identifying the pathogens allows us to determine the source - whether it's cow or hygiene related - and develop a comprehensive udder health programme based on facts.

It's really important to identify the mastitis-causing pathogens before selecting a teat spray. Some teat sprays are designed to be effective against certain pathogens and can really make a difference in challenging environmental conditions.
